You've turned into a ghost, and I'm thinking about just letting you fade away.

tying the knot

I shot an evangelical wedding today in SF, an interesting experience. There was no dancing, no drinking. Very traditional, with orchestrated shots of cake cutting, bouquet throwing, and portrait shots.

I had to force a smile - a standard in wedding shooting.

If I were a trumpet

It's funny; I played both the saxophone (in 4th grade, lugging it up and down the hill in monterey), and the flute (in 6th grade, maybe because it was lighter?) - and now I loathe both of these instruments. I have no idea of how I decided I wanted to play either of them at the time, considering that I wasn't a musical kid.

Band kids are smarter. It's true; they've done studies. (I'll do some research, and get back to you). I've always wondered if my lack of musical talent means I'm not so smart. Or, like my mind lacks an intricate layer that musicians have. Somehow I don't speak the language.

As a rule, though, I love anything with a trumpet. And, someday I'll learn to play it.
